We keep our porkers together until they get done in at about 5-6 months and generally there is no problem........most of my friends with pigs do it this way too. After that age its better to separate them....!Val Graingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07208039108902726094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2775851535865333311.post-2923815055902852982007-05-28T00:58:00.000-07:002007-05-28T00:58:00.000-07:00Thanks again for the warts and all clarity, which ...Thanks again for the warts and all clarity, which makes such a tale of rural utopia real, otherwise it would be too twee. We've taken delivery of our sheep: a ram, ewe and male lamb. The other ewe had died before we could pick her up so we will collect another male lamb when it's a bit older and we're on the lookout for another ewe with her lamb. We want company for the ram when he can't be in the field with the ewes, so will have one of the boys castrated: a wether, I think that's called? We'll then eat the other but, as they are so small, he might need a few more months to fatten up sufficiently, so we will have to have him castrated by the vet, despite the cost. Boys and their balls, eh? what trouble!Stuart and Gabriellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07886622731103783384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2775851535865333311.post-25085619117596055382007-05-26T23:52:00.000-07:002007-05-26T23:52:00.000-07:00For some reason, it strikes me as odd that you tho...For some reason, it strikes me as odd that you thought eating the little piggies was better than castrating them!!!!

I don't think I'm cut out for life as a farmer!!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08781237143187343971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2775851535865333311.post-66039183646989882942007-05-25T14:17:00.000-07:002007-05-25T14:17:00.000-07:00Well,how did you cook them.
